ABOUT THE ROLE
The Commercial IT Technician will serve as our in-house IT Technician mainly at The City of Lougheed. The successful candidate will serve two functions within the company. Firstly, they will be responsible for coordination between the company and external vendors and contractors. Secondly, the IT Technician will be the main point of contact for commercial tenants and administrative support offices on site. We are looking for a candidate who will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of IT equipment and associated software for commercial and residential spaces on site. This role will report to our IT Manager.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Primary job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Facilitate access agreements with outside contractors; arranging phone set-up, data ports and services to site
- Handle event IT requests; coordinate with third parties for event IT set-up by assisting with sound system and visual applications
- Coordinate IT service onboarding; organizing compatibility with network and data ports, as well as introductions between contractors and tenants
- Provide IT support to the commercial tenants, administrative offices, and residential towers
- Make timely and accurate diagnosis of system-related problems and determine between hardware, software, and network related issues
- Identify and solve any problems that affect desktop computer operating systems; troubleshoot routine problems and maintain systems
- Manage and maintain networks lighting, AV, Digital Signage, LED stairs, and other IoT
- Maintain other relevant computer peripheral devices such as monitors, printers, etc.

Required Training and Experience
- 2-3+ years previous experience in a commercial IT role
- Technical knowledge of PC hardware, software, operating systems, internet, and networking
- Good understanding of network hardware, protocols, and standards including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, VLAN, SMTP, SNMP, HTTP, HTTPS, and Wireless Technologies
- Experience in providing IT services to commercial environment; IoT knowledge is an advantage
- Cisco background is an asset
- Experience in maintaining PC client workstation hardware, operating systems, applications, printers, mobile devices, networking
- Experience in providing IT services for events spaces
- Commercial, hotel or resort property IT experience is an asset
- Understanding of server-side components and applications including web application
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will mainly support The City of Lougheed property, with time also spent supporting The Amazing Brentwood. Both properties are managed and developed by SHAPE and located in Burnaby, BC. Due to the nature of the role, the Commercial IT Technician may be required to travel to different sites from time to time including other properties in the SHAPE portfolio or SHAPE Head Office located in downtown Vancouver.
