ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director of IT Strategy will be responsible for leading the strategic oversight of new and existing technology in the organization. They will be responsible for managing IT processes to define the long-term vision of technology that will support SHAPE’s organizational goals. The successful candidate will work closely with SHAPE’s leadership and IT team to align IT with the strategic vision of the company.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the development of the strategies for IT infrastructure and service management in collaboration with SHAPE’s leadership and IT team
  • Accountable for the delivery of our IT roadmap initiatives, including multi-year infrastructure upgrades and integrated company-wide software supporting multiple departments
  • Attend monthly meetings with leadership and provide updates on IT initiatives including roadmap progress
  • Provide strategic, organizational, operational, and leadership support to the office of the CEO, COO, and senior leadership team at SHAPE
  • Provide IT strategy leadership to SHAPE’s in-house IT team and collaborate closely with the team to establish a plan, timeline, and a communication strategy on all road map initiatives
  • Design and maintain a comprehensive and updated dashboard of all IT project resources across all active and planned IT projects
  • Design, develop, and implement an integrated communications strategy to engage and educate SHAPE staff on the capabilities and value that IT has delivered. Train staff on how new tools and technologies can further advance business goals and objectives
  • Work closely with SHAPE’s VP of Platform Excellence and our IT Manager to communicate IT policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Lead the organization in best practices relating to security and governance and oversee compliance audits
  • Enforce best practices across the organization through comprehensive training programs incorporating compliance guidelines and standard operating procedures
  • Responsible for IT budget and overseeing financial planning
  • Stay current and well versed on IT trends and emerging technologies and bring newfound knowledge to the forefront of the organization
  • Assist the team in creating and maintaining relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers
  • Develop, design, and implement Record Management, Data Governance and Data Security protocols
  • Formalize BI and Data Visualization foundation for reporting (MS dynamics 365)
  • Coordinate and support inflight software implementation and testing phases and capture the training process to roll out to users
  • Formalize CRM/ERP System – enterprise resource planning system to tie our multiple systems across the organization together

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High focus on innovation, collaboration, and communication
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud computing and enterprise software programs
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite programs
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex IT strategies into simplified executive summaries for non-IT personnel to understand
  • Team-oriented leadership style with a willingness to learn as well as educate and foster team growth

Required Training and Experience

  • 5 or more years of previous experience in a technology strategy related role including analysing and advising on IT operating models
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree related to technology and/or business administration preferred
  • ITIL certification an asset
  • PMP certification or similar an asset

Working Conditions

SHAPE’s corporate office, located in the downtown Vancouver business district, is where the successful candidate may expect a comfortable and collaborative work environment in a modern office setting. This position is also required to visit various sites in the SHAPE portfolio from time to time.
